JUDERÍA. The Judería is a charming white neighbourhood of Cordova abundant with flowers, which serve as a testimony to the Jewish nucleus that existed during the Roman and Visigothic periods. In its western part you can find two illustrious monuments of Cordoba: Seneca, the writer and Roman philosopher and the statue of Averroes. On the Street of the Jews you find the Synagogue, which was constructed in 1315. Close to the Synagogue there is the Municipal Bullfighting Museum, which exposes trophies, suits and posters of Cordoba’s eminent bullfighter natives such as Lagartijo, Machaco, Guerrita, Manolete and El Cordobés. From here you can reach Zoco with its hand crafts shops, and in the summer an Andalusian Flamenco Bar can be found nearby. From here you reach San Bartholomew’s Chapel, the House of the Indian, the minarets that preserve the Church of San Juan and the Convent of Santa Clara, which both date from the 11th century.
