Today this area has become a strong trading area and has also been developed as a cultural quarter. Given the fact that the University for Art is located here, Walle has become one of the favourite residential areas of artists. There is also a Shopping Centre, the Cinema 46, the culture workshop “Westend”, a theatre, an ice skating rink, lots of green areas, a bicycle pathway and the harbour museum. One can travel to the city centre by tram. There are also many public parking places.
