The Archaeological Museum has got pieces, which date back to the IV –II Century BC. You may also visit the Spanish defensive bastion from the 17th Century. Taormina’s city centre is 7km from here and it can be reached by a public bus (in the summer it runs until midnight). From Recanati beach you can reach the delta of Alcantara River by foot, an area of great natural interest: both the ornitological observation and the vegetation richness are worth the visit. In Giardini di Naxos there is also a sporting port with 25 moors. Due to it’s marine character, most of the local traditional dishes, refined and highly valued, are based on fish.
