OLD TOWN. The Old Town was completed in the 13th century and managed to preserve its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains. It is a jumble of narrow streets and red-tiled roofs. Tall walls encircle the city and there are two entrances to the Old Town - the Pile Gate leads to the Stradun, the city''s promenade.
