MYKONOS SOUTH. The south of the island is very popular for its beaches. The beach of Psarou is preferred by Greek people and celebrities and it offers restaurants with local cuisine, a fantastic view on the coast, water sports and a diving school. Just off the Psarou there is the Platis Gialos, with fine sandy equipped beach and shallow water. The near "Paradise Beach" is known as the party beach, with discos, bars and cafes on the beach. The atmosphere is almost the same, in the morning or in the evening. The Paradise Beach, a little bit to the east, is a popular nudist, Gay and party beach. In the next bay to the southeast (about 10 km away from the city), there is the beach of Elia. It is also naturist, with water and swimming sports and with mixed people. All beaches can be reached by bus or by small boats, which operates between the beach bays.
