MAIA. Maia is a municipality 8 km away to the north of Port, with many historical monuments. Among them the church of Holy Maria, built by the knights of the Holy Sepulchre in Romanic style, on its facade you can still see the cross of Malta. Another religious place of interest is the chapel Our Lady of Guadeloupe, dating back to 1633, with the original frescos still visible inside. Besides the classic museums regarding the history of the zone you can visit the Car Museum where you can admire ancient and beautiful vehicles. Maia is well connected to Porto thanks to numerous buses and the metro arriving to the city centre. It’s also easy to get by car as Maia is situated next to the highway.
