CENTRE: To the centre of the current city we still discover objects of daily life from the Neolithic era, traces of the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. The hot mineral sources that are in abundance in the plain of Sofia are the principal reason for the establishment of the first inhabitants of this place. Most of them are located in the current city. Their temperature varies between 21°C and 42°C. Downtown, in the interior courtyard of the Presidency and Sheraton Hotel rises the famous Roman Rotunda, transformed into the St. Georgi Church during the 4th century. One finds, everywhere in the centre, antiquities and traces of the Roman culture. You will also find the shopping centre: CCS (city centre Sofia). Sofia also has access to a subway line. There are various bus numbers for short distances and for nearby neighbourhoods. A big number of buses and of trams also serve the city.
