- LOHAUSEN. Lohausen is a quarter in the fifth district in the north of Düsseldorf, the capital of the state North Rhine-Westphalia. With a square footage of 11.66Km2, it is the third biggest quarter. Lohausen is a residential district with predominantly one and two family houses, as well as many villas. Agriculture is still practised here and is a popular destination for horse riding and for playing tennis. There is also a water protection zone for nature walks, along the river rhine (Rhein). In direct proximity (approx. 5 - 10 minutes by car) are the airport and the fairground of Düsseldorf. Public transport offers a good service between the city centre, airport and fairground by regional train, buses and Tram/Metro.
- UNTERRATH. Unterrath is a quarter in the north of Dusseldorf and belongs to the 6th District (about 20,000 inhabitants in November 2007). This residential area is located near the Duesseldorf airport and has its own S-Bahn (train) station and several bus and tram lines. Unterrath is conveniently located between motorways B 1, B 8, A 44 and A 52. The city centre and the old town of Duesseldorf are about 4-5km far away from Unterrath, and are easily accessible by public transport. Nearby there are fairgrounds, shopping and various restaurants. For sport activities there is a swimming pool and a sports court, or the river Rhine for nice walks or jogging in a green, natural environment.
