La Palma District Source
- LOS LLANOS DE ARIDANE is located in the island of La Palma and forms part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Los Llanos is the largest and busiest town on the west side of the island with a population of just over 20,000. Although there are many modern buildings, the pedestrianised streets still retain their old character.
Plaza de Espana is the hub of the town and a good place to have a cup of coffee and watch the world go by.
There are several supermarkets, many shops, a cinema, and many small streets with typical old houses. Los Llanos is also the name of the area which includes the town of Los Llanos and also several villages including Puerto Naos, La Laguna and Todoque.
- TODOQUE is a village on the west side of La Palma between Los Llanos and Puerto Naos.
The village centre is quite small with a church, chemist, small supermarket, a butchers, a couple of bars and a restaurant.
The surrounding area is well populated with holiday homes.
Behind the church of Todoque is a cafe which serves good food and tapas, including rabbit.
The main road from Los Llanos to Puerto Naos runs through Todoque village. The road continues right to Puerto Naos. The side road to the left goes to Las Manchas and Jedey (or Chedey). In the main street there’s also a restaurant and a quaint old fashioned bar. The hill nearby is one of the side vents of an extinct volcano.
