- PANIER: The Panier is a popular neighbourhood with little streets and colored houses that overhangs the Old Marseilles harbour. All in this district is picturesque as the name of the streets or again the behaviour of its inhabitants. With its little streets, its small places and the extensive linen to the windows, The Panier is really one of the essential places to visit in Marseilles.
- EOURES. This neighbourhood is located in the 11st district of the Provençal city of Marseilles. It is situated 10km from the city centre and from the border of the town of Aubagne, which is the village of the famous French writer Marcel Pagnol. Eoures is situated in a unique atmosphere with its nature and tranquillity. You will be able to enjoy the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, which are located only 15 km away and you will also be able to enjoy the possibilities of numerous and varied excursions. Nature enthusiasts will like the beauty of the Massive of the Calanques between Marseilles and Cassis, a symbiosis between sea, sky and rocks. The beautiful neighbourhood of La Treille, which was the holiday destination of Marcel Pagnol is not far from here. Many businesses and restaurants can be found only 3km away.
- LE REDON. Le Redon is a pretty residential area of Marseilles. It is found in the ninth district, near the Park of Lumigny. It is situated very near the Coves and the Mediterranean Sea. Its quite eccentric location and proximity to the city centre enables you to not to have to suffer the displeasures of the traffic, rather it provides you with a sensation of tranquility. Nevertheless Marseilles city centre has easy access thanks to the range of public transport that will leave you there in less than 30 minutes. About 2 kilometres away, you will find the neighbourhood of Marzagues, where you will be able to contemplate its old houses entangled in each other and walk in its small and twisting streets, which are full of small shops.
- ENDOUME. Endoume is a locality of the 7th district of Marseilles, in the department of the Bouches-du-Rhône. This neighbourhood is an old Marseille town situated not far from the coast, in the southern neighbourhood. In this district you will visit famous and emblematic religious structures: The Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde, which was built in 1870 and the abbey Saint-Victor, which was founded in the V century. Opposite the abbey do not miss the oldest bakery of Marseilles built in 1781. In 10 minutes by foot, you will reach the sea shore as well as the old Port (Vieux Port), where workshops which are classified historic monuments, as well as many bars, restaurants, the theatre and the opera are located. There are also good connections with the remainder of the city, thanks to the public transport (bus and metro).
- VIEUX PORT. The Vieux Port (Old Harbour) is a site of Marseilles that is located at the bottom of the Canebière. The workshops of the Vieux Port are classified historic monuments. The Vieux port is the former harbour of Marseilles. Do not miss the vestiges towards the Palais de la Bourse (Palace of the Stock Exchange) or the Charles De Gualle Square, where there are still important historical discoveries being made.
This also remained an important meeting point for the Marseillais in times of big events. The city hall dates back to the end of the XVII° century and its facade looks onto the Vieux Port and Notre Dame de la Garde (Church). Not far from there you can find the " la maison de Cabre " (the house of Rears), which dates back to 1535 and is one of the older abodes of the city. This are also survived the destructions of the neighbourhood during the war (1943).
- CASTELLANE ET PREFECTURE. The Castellane square marks the beginning of the South district of Marseilles, with its cosy neighbourhoods, large avenues, offices and beaches. Around the Cantini fountain which is situated in the middle of the square, you will find many restaurants and coffees with terraces.
In the initial part of the very long Prado Avenue is settled the biggest market of Marseilles. You can get to the most important attractions of Marseilles thanks to the underground connections (Castellane stop station is nearby).
In 15 minutes walking you will reach the Vieux Port. In this district you will be able to visit: the Museum Cantina, The Palace of the Prefecture, The Palace of Justice, The neighbourhood of the antique Dealers, the Church of Holy Nicolas of Myre.
