• NEA MONEMVASIA As if time had jumped back to the middle age period, situated in the eastern coast of Laconia, the medieval Byzantine and Venetian fortress-town of Monemvasia perched on its distinctively shaped rock, attracts thousands of visitors every year. Entering Monemvasia city you will be charmed by its narrow cobbled alleys. In the main alley of Monemvasia you can visit beautiful small shops, coffee shops and restaurants. The rock on which it is built is 300m. high and is connected to the coast by means of a low bridge. Access is by land, by following the Sparta-Molaoi road to the south-east, or by sea, by the ship of the line linking Piraeus with the South Peloponnese, Kythira and Kasteli, or by flying dolphin.
