  • VECCHIANO. Vecchiano is situated between the mountains of Pisa and the River Serchio, 10km away from the historical centre of Pisa. The area, surrounded by the Tuscan countryside is well known for the cultivation of olives. It is not too far from the Natural Park of San Rossore and from the beaches of the coast. If you are travelling by car, it is the ideal place to enjoy the natural scenery and at the same time, be able to reach the tourist attractions of Pisa without staying in the centre.
  • CENTER. The city centre is rich in monuments of considerable historical importance and which are known all over the world, like the famous Torre Pendente. It’s a bell tower, which was built over the course of two centuries under which the ground yielded slightly, making it incline by some degrees. It is situated in the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1987 where you can also see the Cathedral and the Baptistery. Other places of interest in the city centre are: Piazza dei Cavalieri, ancient political seat of the Pisan Republic, the Church of S. Stefano, Palazzo della Canonica, Palazzo del Consiglio, Collegio Puteano and the Clock Tower. Nearby there is the station FS from where you can easily reach the Galilei airport.

  • The district Cisanello is situated in the north-east part of Pisa and is so called for the presence of the Cisanello hospital situated in the same area. In the district Cisanello the so-called CNR area where the Italian National Research council resides is also situated. This area is composed of modern buildings, and surrounded by green areas so that you can rest in silence far from the city traffic. You can easily reach the city centre in 15 minutes by the city buses connecting with the FS station and from here to the Pisa Galilei airport. This makes the district an economical and functional solution for those who want to visit the ancient town of Pisa.
