  • OLD TOWN. The baroque old town of Salzburg is the ideal place to reach walking the most important attractions of the so-called Mozart city: the “Festspielhaus”, the opera, theatres, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
There are about 100 churches, palaces, squares with fountains, gardens, castles and so on. In 1996 UNESCO included the old town and the mountains which surround it in the World Heritage list. Salzburg offers every kind of entertainment: cultural, sports, history, shopping, nature, mountain climbing or events like the “Festspiele”. The best way to move in the old town is walking, the bicycle or the public bus.
  • GNIGL. Gnigl is a District in the north-east of the city of Mozart Salzburg, between the mountains “Kühberg” in the south and the “Heuberg” in the north. The castle “Neuhaus” is the oldest historical monument of Gnigl, it was built in the 13th Century. Also the old times remember the castle “Minnesheim”, together with its big garden. The remaining parts of the Minnesheimparks are now a landscaped garden in the English style. Gnigl and the airport are easily accessible by the motorway A1. But the city of Salzburg, and also the fairgrounds are well connected to the network of public transport. The S-Bahn (regional train) S3 stops every 30 minutes and take you in only 6 minutes to the main train station of Salzburg. (Or Auto bus 20 and 23 and several regional bus lines.)
  • GRÖDIG. Grödig is a village in “Salzburger Land” and it is located approximately 10km southwest from the city centre of Salzburg, at the foot of “Untersberg” Mountain, the ideal place to hike and enjoy the nature. Also the villages Eichet, Glanegg, Grödig, Fürstenbrunn and St.Leonhard are part of this area.
You will easily find many restaurants with typical cuisine of Salzburg, but also international specialities. An attraction of the region is the Castle “Glanegg”, and you can also make a trip on the “Untersberg” Montain and visit the homonymous Museum and various churches and fountains. There is a public bus to the city of Salzburg (it takes about 15 minutes to get there) and to the surrounding villages.
