Tropea District Source
- CENTRE.Tropea’s historical downtown is constituted by ancient buildings, dozen of tiny streets, small squares with mediaeval appearance, incredible panoramic terraces on the port and the city. The heart of the district is Vittorio Veneto Square, with the war memorial monument. Going down you can find Largo San Michele where it’s situated the Church of the Purgatory (1874), neoclassical building in which are preserved the Three Crosses. Soon afterwards in the street Glorizio you’ll see Palace Toraldo on the right, a patrician building where the ancient castle was settled. Going straight on you’ll be able to admire the beach and the sea of Tropea, the port and the island of the Santa Maria’s church.
