Dwarves: much more than buffoons
Being a dwarf or suffering from dwarfism is a birth defect that affects growth. People who suffer from it are not taller than 1,20 meters, although there are also other kinds of dwarfism, like people who suffer only from skull dwarfism or genital dwarfism.
Since there are different types of dwarfism, there are also some medical treatments for the less severe cases. For instance, it is well known that the center forward at F.C. He did not want to receive medical treatment in his country, so, he arrived at Barcelona to be given growth hormones in order for him to have a normal height and make his dream of being a football player come true. In many cases, there is no cure for dwarfism, but nowadays, a new technique of elongation of upper and lower extremities has been developed. This technique allows the individual to be up to 30 centimeters taller, which can radically change anyone’s height. This treatment consists on breaking the bones and controlling their union by means of a kind of thread that causes bones to elongate to the extent that the specialist thinks is the best for the patient. This discovery has dramatically changed the lives of some Dwarves that were not able to reach the pocket of their pants with their hands before, because their arms were too short. Some of them were not able to withdraw money from an ATM.
Historically, Dwarves have almost always worked for entertaining people. Despite their short height, they are robust and strong, but that does not mean that they did not have great prestige and a comfortable life, since every castle had its own buffoons for important parties. Nowadays, some Dwarves work in circuses as clowns to continue entertaining people, although many of them have been integrated very well into society with the help of the charities for the disabled people.

In the cinema, this kind of actors has also played an important role, since without them; thousand of fantastic characters could not have been played. If I say the name of Verne Troye, certainly you will not have idea of who I am talking about, but his image will come to your mind if I say “Mini Me” from Agustin Powers’ saga. We can also mention Darwirck Davis who played the roles of the dwarf in Willow, the dwarf in Harry Potter and also the dwarf that appears in The Chronicles of Narnia.
Dwarves have been present in all the artistic fields; for that reason they are indispensable in extreme performances like porno movies. There have been famous dwarf actors in this genre like Holly One, whose movies were a worldwide success. He starred in more than one hundred movies, although he was more famous because of his live shows in the Badgad Sex Club in Barcelona.
