Most of the buildings that you can see in the district date back to the XIX century, a lot of them are in liberty style. Among the monuments in the district there are the church of Holy Zita with its bell tower, the highest in the city. In San Donato was also born the well-known factory of chocolate Caffarel, where the famous Gianduiotto (one of the symbols of Turin) was invented.
