PORTICI.Situated to the layers of the Vesuvio and seriously damaged from the eruption of 1631, bloomed again at the times of Carlo III of Bourbon that begin to build in 1738 the famous Real Villa, today university site. Well-known to have been the first Italian railroad, the line Portici – Naples was built to connect the capital with the royal palace. Obligatory visit is the National Railroad Museum of Pietrarsa that fosters of the proud Royal Italian train. In Portici there are numerous villas that are part of the so-called “Gold Mile” of the neapolitan XVII century, built after the interest provoked in the aristocracy from the Vesuvius, from the Royal Palace and from the finding of Herculaneum and of Pompei.
