Excellant location, big and comfort appartment, nice communication with the owner and good contact person.

Excellent apartment, spacious living area, facilities very good and easy to use, fast wi-fi, and a superb location. Our contact person, Marta, was delightful and helpful. Best apartment we stayed in on this trip.

Very convenient location close to a few subway stations (5-10min walk) and about 15-20 minute walk from Atocha train station. The unit is very comfortable. The AC, bathroom and kitchen facilities all work well. Although the neighborhood is somewhat noisy, it is very quiet in the apartment since it faces the interior court.

Very suitable for a large group

Great position very close to everything. Out side space good. Owner very informative

What not to miss in Madrid

It’s complicated to summarise the best of Madrid due to its variety and quality. What nobody can miss out on is its Triangle of Art, three of the best museums in Europe, the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofía, all a stone’s throw from each other, next to the Park of El Retiro. From the famous Puerta del Sol and its Kilometre 0 you get onto Calle Mayor and from there to Plaza Mayor, one of the architectonic landmarks of the highest value in the city. At the end of the street you find the Palacio Real and the Almudena Cathedral, two of the most important buildings in Madrid. Further towards the centre, the Gran Vía is one of Madrid’s hot spots, with commercial and leisure areas for all tastes. Also, don’t miss out on Castilian cuisine in the many taverns around the city, nor the Cibeles and Neptune squares, symbolic squares with Neo-classic sculptures.

Where to stay in Madrid

Centro is where the Puerta del Sol, Calle Mayor and most of the tourist landmarks are. In any case, Madrid is much more than that. Malasaña is an alternative area with nice bars and cafes, perfect to relax when you leave your cheap apartments in Madrid, although nothing more bohemian than the chic cafes and clubs in La Latina. Chueca is similar but with much more character, with many designer shops and the gay district in Madrid par excellence. The Gran Vía is where all the commercial and leisure activity in Madrid is centred, the street that never sleeps. For those in search for luxury and exclusivity, Salamanca is most definitely the part of the city to be in.

When to visit Madrid

Madrid has a continental Mediterranean climate, which means that summers are very hot and winters are cold. That’s why visiting the Spanish capital during spring or autumn is perfect in terms of weather, with temperatures around 60ºF and infrequent rain, as well as having less tourists. Enjoying Madrid comfortably is a luxury within everyone’s reach.

Transport in Madrid

Madrid-Barajas Airport receives flights from all over the world. In the city, the best way to get around is with the metro, although the buses and taxis are also reliable and not too expensive.

Popular festivals in Madrid

New Year’s Eve at the Puerta del Sol is a local tradition. In May, it’s the city festival as tribute to the city’s patron saint, St Isidro, and the city flourishes with artistic and cultural events all around, a perfect time to come and enjoy holidays in Madrid.
