LUX GUELIZ 2We have had a good time in this appartment. Contactperson Mr. Tarek is a vey helpfull person and was doing a great job when we asked him for making a trip into the mountains. Appartment is situated in a calm street. Supermarket 200m. from it. Taxi's very quick to have. The beds and rooms are nice. Airco is working very well!
GUELIZ CENTREThis apartment is right in the middle of an Art Gallery compound in Gueliz, the more luxury part of Marrakech. Securities close the gates to this compound after 10 PM, which gives a safe feeling. Inside this compound 2 nice cafes with good food, friendly service and excellent WIFI internet connection. The apartment is big and comfortable.
APARTLUX GUELIZVery nice apartment, clean and tidy, modern facilities overall enjoyed our stay, would deffo recomend to any sort of client as it accomadates all.
MALAK GULIEZ 1a lovely place - great area and value for money
Marrakesh is a gate to a different world at Europe’s doorstep. This Moroccan city is the most tourist-orientated city in the country, where you can find Berber culture mixed with 21st-century modernity and luxury. Its historical legacy combines with the cuisine and the culture as well as the labyrinth of the souqs. There’s no doubt that renting apartments in Marrakech is a unique and unforgettable experience that will open the visitor’s eyes in the beautiful country that is Morocco.[See more]
What to do in Marrakesh
The heart of the city is Djemaa el-Fna, an enormous square inside the Medina that fills itself with light and music at night as well as with Moroccan food stalls. Its most important historical attractions are the Koutoubia, a 12th-century mosque; the souqs, where you can buy anything you want and more, although don’t forget to haggle when you do; the Saadian Tombs and the Badi Palace in the Kasbah; and, in the modern part, in Guéliz, the Majorelle Gardens, a great place to relax outside the city centre hustle. Also, you can’t miss out on a visit to a hammam.
Districts in Marrakesh
The Medina is the old city and where most of the cheap apartments in Marrakesh are as well as the most important tourist attractions, such as Djemaa el-Fna, the souqs, Bab Doukkala and its market or the Koutoubia. Outside the walls is the Kasbah, the old Jewish district where there’s a large amount of hammams and historical monuments. The modern area of the city is in Guéliz, close to where is the Palmeraie and the most luxurious area in Marrakesh.
When to visit Marrakesh
In summer, the African heat can be quite overwhelming so it’s best to visit the city in spring or fall, when the temperatures are more moderate. Don’t forget that Marrakesh is in the middle of the desert so in winter the temperatures go down considerably at night and can fluctuate15ºC between day and night.
Getting around Marrakesh
You can get to Marrakesh at its Menara Airport, which communicates it with the rest of the world. Inside the Medina it’s recommended to visit it by foot but if you have to go a bit further and don’t fancy walking, a taxi is a good way to get around although remember to agree on a price before setting off. You can also go on a cart pulled by horses but it’s more expensive and slow.
Festivals in Marrakesh
Marrakesh combines old and modern in its cultural events. The most important ones are the Popular Arts Festival in July and the Film Festival in December, where the city is flooded with culture, film, music, dance and art. Ramadan and Eid take place in July and August and the Wedding Festival in Imichil is an original insight into Berber culture in August and September. If you’d like to spend unforgettable holidays in Marrakesh, don’t miss out on this part of their culture.
