Take the bus from the Amsterdam-Schiphol airport, and you will get there in just half an hour. You must take the bus number 397, and get off at Museumplein.
It can be reached from Amsterdam Central Train Station in about 25 minutes, if you take both the tram number 2 (to Nieuw Sloten, Van Baerlestraat stop), and the tram number 5 (to Amstelveen Binnenhof, Van Baerlestraat stop). You can also get there by bus, just take the bus number 170, to Uithoorn, Amstelplein; or the bus number 172, to Kudelstaart, and get off at Rijksmuseum / Museumplein.
